Elsie's work references a part of\u003cbr\u003ethis songline which passes close by to Kaltukatjara (Docker River), where the\u003cbr\u003ebodies of the sisters formed the distinctive red mountains rising above the gap\u003cbr\u003ecreated by the karu (river).\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eHer detailed works contain abstracted forms of landmarks such as mountains,\u003cbr\u003ewaterholes, creeks and rocks, as well as incorporating Western desert\u003cbr\u003eiconography.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eElsie\u003c\/strong\u003e paints important tjukurpa (dreaming stories) from around the Docker River\u003cbr\u003earea, with a particular focus on the Kungka Kutjara (Two Sisters) songline.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eElsie Edimintja is an established artist who was born at Areyonga (Utju), but now lives\u003cbr\u003ein Kaltukatjara (Docker River). Elsie paints important Tjukurpa (Dreaming stories) from\u003cbr\u003earound the Docker River area, with a particular focus on the Kungka Kutjara (Two\u003cbr\u003eSisters) songline which passes through the mountains close to Kaltukatjara.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eHer family's country is Tjunti, where the explorer Lasseter was abandoned by his\u003cbr\u003ecamels and lived for several months being fed and cared for by local Anangu. Elsie also\u003cbr\u003epaints dreaming stories relating to the Tjunti area.
