Brolga Award Winners 2025!!

That speech everyone was talking about!
Here it is in full — written and delivered by ABT Business Manager, Gulungay Girrimay woman Samoane Regattieri, with support from ABT Gallery Coordinator Belinda Foster and ABT Café Supervisor Amina Mavat.
On Saturday night, ABT were the winners of the Tourism Retail, Hire and Services category at the 2025 NT Brolga Awards.

I’d like to pay my respects to the Larrakia people, of the land on which we meet tonight, and extend my respect to Elders past and present.
‘Wow, I just clicked my fabulous gold boot heels and whispered, “Take me to the Brolgas stage”. And my Dad heard me.
Four years chasing this elusive bird and Award…. LOL. And here we are.
To the Brolgas, Tourism NT, and all the sponsors, thank you. And a massive congratulations to all the nominees, finalists and winners tonight.
ABT – Aboriginal Bush Traders is more than a business. It’s a conduit. A lifeline. A celebration.
- For art and culture centres across the NT
- For established and emerging artists
- For mob living rough
- For bush medicine and bush food growers
- For ethical business collaborators
ABT provides a culturally safe, ethical space to share, sell, and celebrate. Everything we do is about honouring and telling the stories of 65,000 years.
ABT doesn’t exist without our Creator supply chain. And I don’t do this alone.
This is for the woman standing beside me, my work Bestie, Belinda, or B, and Amina, who have walked this four-plus journey of change, challenges, and resilience; thank you. This is for our team and the teams that have come and gone over the past four years. This is for our biggest supporters and mini fan club: our CEO, Shaun Pearce, and Operations Manager, Kirstine Cossens.
This is for 10 years of ABT. And for 25 years of Ironbark Aboriginal Corporation – Changing Lives, One Story at a Time.
We got this bird!
Thank-you.
