Aboriginal Bush Traders front Gift Shop Space

Aboriginal Bush Traders (ABT) is a vibrant Aboriginal art gallery, Indigenous owned not-for-profit social enterprise based in Shops 4 & 5 at Smith Street Mall in Darwin.

Our retail space showcases authentic Aboriginal art alongside a diverse range of products, including carvings, weavings, paintings, bush food pantry items, traditional bush medicines, and fashion and beauty products. Complementing the retail store, our gallery presents a dynamic exhibition program, featuring a new show every six weeks.

When you shop at ABT, you are directly supporting Northern Territory remote Indigenous-led art centres and independent Indigenous artists—many of whom rely on their art as their primary source of income. As a proudly Indigenous business, we are committed to fair pay for all artists we work with and guarantee the authenticity and provenance of every product we sell.

ABT is a subsidiary of Ironbark Aboriginal Corporation, a leading community development organisation supporting urban, regional, and remote communities across the Darwin Daly region in the Northern Territory.

Through its programs and services, Ironbark works to improve lives and strengthen communities by:

  • Connecting communities
  • Building strong relationships and networks
  • Developing life skills
  • Celebrating and protecting culture
  • Creating meaningful employment opportunities

Changing lives, one story at a time.
