This is the story of Yirrikipayi, the man who became the crocodile. He lived at Cape Fourcroy but he did not want to share the land with other Tiwi. A big fight happened. Men chased and speared Yirrikipayi, before he crawled into the sea to become the crocodile. He still has the spearheads along his spine. The bunch of spears he was carrying have become his long tail.
